Our broadband phone service provides many of the features that you use daily, including call waiting, call forwarding, three way calling and voice mail. Our service is also one of the very few that provides you with a Jamaica telephone number as well as virtual numbers from several other countries including the USA, UK and Canada giving you the ability to receive local calls from multiple countries.

Our SoSoChat BYOD plan carries no no monthly fees, it is also the only plan  that gives you the "anywhere access" feature. That is, not only you can use the service from home via a telephone adapter or your computer, but you can also make calls when you are on the road from your mobile phone by dialing any of our access numbers and using the same account as you would with a calling card. Great Calling rates when you are home or on the road.

Our Direct Connect calling service gives you all the features of a calling card but is much more reliable, there are no junk fees and your funds in your account are good for one year. Added to this calling service is the a forwarding feature which gives you the ability to receive incoming calls from Jamaica on any telephone in world, the forwarding feature is FREE, you simply pay the per minute rate for the forwarded destination.

What services do you offer?
  We offer two different calling services our "Broadband" phone Service and our Direct Connect calling service.

Broadband phone service - Our broadband phone service is similar to other services such as Vonage or Comcast Voice. It would most suited to persons who are looking to make calls from home. To get this service you will need to have broadband internet access such as DSL or Cable Modem as well as our telephone adapter.

Direct Connect - If you make most of your calls from your mobile phone or when you are away from home the Direct Connect calling service is best for you. You do not need any additional equipment or internet service; you can make and receive all your calls from any phone that you currently use. That is; you can use your mobile phone, your office phone or your home phone. To make calls you simply dial any one of our access numbers in the USA, Canada or the UK.
Do I need a Computer?
  No; even though our broadband phone service uses the telephone adapter connected to the internet to make calls, it does not use your computer and your computer does not need to be turned on. Our telephone adapter connects directly to your internet service via something called an Ethernet port (all broadband internet service has this port)
What equipment is needed?
  Our broadband phone service uses a telephone adapter or computer. To use our Direct Connect service you need no additional equipment.
Where can I use your services?
  Our broadband phone service can be used anywhere in the world as long as there is broadband internet access such as DSL or Cable. Our Direct Connect calling service can be used in the USA, Canada and the UK; there are the countries that we have access numbers for you to call into your account.

Do you charge fees?
  If you have signed up for a monthly plan, you will pay the monthly subscription for that plan. There are no additional fees whatsoever.

What is VoIP?
  VoIP is the acronym for (Voice over Internet Protocol). This is simply the technology used to send your telephone calls through the internet instead of the traditional switches used by the old style telephone companies. The VoIP technology reduces the cost of phone calls so much that virtually every company in operation today uses this technology.

Chances are if you make or receive a telephone call, your call at some point will be sent over the internet.
Do I have to buy equipment?
  No, even though you need a telephone adapter which costs US$85 to use our broadband phone service, we send it to you at no cost. Our only requirement is that you return the equipment to us in good working and cosmetic condition if you cancel the service within a year. If you cancel the service within a year and do not return the equipment to us within two weeks we will charge you US$85.00
How do I make calls using the Direct Connect service?
  The Direct Connect service is only available in the USA, UK, & Canada. If you have a valid account; you simply dial any of our access numbers from your registered telephone. You will not be prompted for a any pin number, instead, the system will play a welcome message and announce your calling balance. You will then dial your destination number followed by the # sign. Please note; with every call that you make using this service you must enter the entire number including the country code. That means, if you are calling Jamaica you will need to dial 1-876 then the other seven digits, then press the # sign to send the call.
How do I make calls using the Broadband Phone service service?
  To make calls using the broadband phone service, you simply pick up the telephone that is attached to your SoSoChat telephone adapter, listen for the dial tone then dial your destination as you would with any other regular telephone. When dialing local Jamaica numbers you have the option of dialing the entire number or just the last seven digits.

How long before my credit expires?
  Funds added to your Direct Connect account are good for one year after it is added. Funds in your Broadband calling service account are good as long as your account is active, there is no expiration.

How long does it take to get the service started?
  The Direct Connect service is activated within 24 hours and can be used as soon as it is activated.

Broadband phone service, your account is usually created within 24 hours and your ATA is shipped within 48 hours. It usually takes 2 to 5 days in transit.
Can I use the services then you bill me?
  No, all services are prepaid; your monthly subscription (if any) is deducted in advance and you will need to have funds in your account to make out of plan calls. That is; if you wish to make a 10 minute call to a destination that costs 10 cents per minute, you will need at least US$1.00 credit in your account to make that call. After that call, you will need to add funds to your account make another call. If you have signed up for an unlimited plan you will not need to have any funds in your account to make calls to destinations included in that plan.
What happens if the funds in my account are used up?
  After all the funds in your account is used up you will not be able to make calls that attract a per minute calling rate.
Can I receive calls?
  Yes both our broadband phone service and our Direct Connect calling service allows you to receive calls.
Does the service Support e911?
  No, at this time the service does not support 911 calls, please do not use this service as your only calling service.
What phones can I receive calls on with your direct connect service?
  You can receive calls from any destination
